STUDENTS and staff at a New Forest school have embraced #HelloYellow for World Mental Health Day.

The charity Young Minds has called on schools across the UK to take part in #HelloYellow to show young people that they are not alone with their mental health.

Pupils from Ringwood School sixth form and academy took part in a variety of activities to mark the day.

Sixth form students provided yellow nail painting for both students and staff throughout the day, with £1 donations to have all ten nails painted.

Students from across the year groups contemplated the meaning of yellow during their daily tutor time and staff showed their support by wearing a variety of shades of yellow.

Over £150 was raised for Young Minds through the nail painting and cake sale.

Progress Leader, Mrs Vicki Lewis, who co-ordinated the School’s recognition of the day, said: “At Ringwood School we take the mental health of our young people very seriously.

"Our pastoral care is excellent and students know that there is always an open door policy if they need to and want to talk. It was fantastic to see so many students and staff getting involved with the day and embracing #HelloYellow”.
