A MAN reportedly grabbed a young boy’s arm while he was playing in a residential road in Lymington.

Police are appealing for information about the incident, which happened at around 4pm on Thursday, October 12.

The eight-year-old boy was playing in Samber Close when a man, who was driving a van, grabbed his arm.

The boy managed to wriggle free and run away.

No description of the man or further details of the van are available at this stage, according to Hampshire Constabulary.

Neighbourhood Inspector Richard Parsons said: “We have been in touch with local schools and will be carrying out reassurance patrols.

“If parents hear their children talking about anything unusual, please report this to us.

“If you have any information about this incident or have private CCTV that may have recorded something in the area, please call 101 quoting 44170396855.”
