DETECTIVES investigating an armed robbery at a Bournemouth post office are still hunting two men.

A raider with a handgun held up the Hengistbury Head Post Office in Broadway on May 5 this year.

He then made off with an undisclosed amount of money from the till.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police were called just after 9am on the day of the robbery. The post office was taped off and forensics officers carried out investigations.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his late 40s and around six feet tall.

He has a thin face and was wearing a black baseball cap. Witnesses say he is bald or has very short, cropped hair.

Police believe a second man may have been involved in the heist. The men are believed to have been last seen getting into a small silver car at the junction of Kingsley Avenue and Braemar Avenue.

Officers later released CCTV footage of two men they want to speak to in connection with the raid.

Detective Constable Michelle Lawrence, of Bournemouth CID, described it as a "very distressing incident" and called for anyone with information to come forward.

The same post office was raided by armed robbers in 2012.

Anyone who saw the incident, or those with information about either of the suspects, should contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 5:84.
