The testing road to the Cheltenham Festival in March starts at Wincanton next month for some of the country’s leading hurdlers, and you could be there to enjoy the racing action when the feature race will be the Unibet Elite Hurdle, the opening leg of the eight-race Unibet Road To Cheltenham race series.

Run over a distance of 2 miles, the Elite Hurdle gives trainers the chance to get a first run of the season into their hurdlers and with over £30,000 on offer to the winner this Grade 2 contest takes centre stage on the Wincanton racecard.

Notable winners include Well Chief, Azertyuiop and Celestial Halo twice, with local trainer Paul Nicholls having won the race seven times. Last year saw the Alan King-trained Sceau Royal, with the experienced Daryl Jacob in the saddle, record a comfortable victory.

We’ve teamed up with big race sponsor Unibet to offer you the chance to win one out of ten pairs of Premier Enclosure tickets for Saturday 11 November by simply answering the following question:

Q. Which horse won last year’s Elite Hurdle:

a) Prince Royal b) Noble Royal c) Sceau Royal
