POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following attempted thefts at two Tesco stores.

The first incident happened at around 12.30am on Monday, September 25, at Tesco in Riverside Avenue in Bournemouth.

A man entered the shop, selected a large quantity of alcohol and placed it into his trolley. When he was challenged by members of staff, he produced a pair of scissors and threatened to stab them. He then made off without any of the goods. No one was injured in the incident.

A second offence occurred at around 1.15am the same day. A man entered Tesco at Tower Park in Poole and attempted to take items before being challenged by staff. He verbally threatened the staff members before making off without any items.

Officers believe the incidents to be linked.

Police Constable Emily Watkins, of Bournemouth police, said: "I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of the suspect for both incidents.

"I would ask that anyone who is able to identify the man pictured to contact Dorset Police.

"If you witnessed any of the incidents or have any information that could help with my investigation, I would urge you to report this."
