MORE than 100 roads around Bournemouth will be closed or have restricted access and parking for this weekend's marathon festival.

A full list has been published on the official website for the Bournemouth Marathon Festival with major roads including Christchurch Road and Southbourne Coast Road shut at different times over the weekend of October 7 and 8.

A statement to all residents and business owners says: "The event organisers in association with the Borough of

Bournemouth Council and Borough of Poole Council have striven to minimise the disruptive impact of the event to allow those directly affected to carry on with their daily routine with as little inconvenience as possible.

"Please take note of the information provided and do not park within these areas during the times stated.

"Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing as freely and smoothly as possible."

The 10k, 5k and junior races will be held on Saturday, with the half marathon and full marathon on Sunday.

Roads will be closed at different times depending on the race routes.

Petersfield Road and Clarence Park Road will both be closed to through traffic in both directions, with a full closure on Kings Park Road, Southbourne Grove and Southbourne Road.

The Broadway will also be closed on Sunday, as will Southbourne Overcliff Drive, Boscombe Overcliff Drive and Boscombe Cliff Road.

Shore Road in Sandbanks will be closed on Sunday as well.

Bus services will also be changing some of their affected routes over the weekend.
