SEVEN cars were stolen from a Poole dealership last night.

The vehicles were taken from Westover Peugeot in Wallisdown Road.

Police were called to reports of a burglary at the dealership shortly before 7.25am today.

A number of other vehicles were also vandalised during the raid.

A statement was released by bosses at Westover.

They confirmed the premises were raided overnight, and said “several vehicles” were stolen from the site.

“The location’s workshop - which services Westover’s Renault, Fiat, Peugeot, Hyundai and Dacia showrooms on Wallisdown Road - has suffered some vandalism,” the statement continued.

“The police are currently present investigating the disturbance and assessing the extent of the damage.

“All Westover showrooms and workshops in Wallisdown Road remain open as usual.”

Joint managing director Paul Dillon said staff are working to help police with their ongoing inquiries.

“We would like to offer sincere apologies to any customers affected by this temporary disruption,” he said.

“Our teams are doing everything possible to help the police with their investigations, while also taking all possible steps to maintain normal service levels.”

Police have not yet released any further information about the raid.

The make and model of the seven vehicles stolen has not been confirmed.

It is also not yet known if CCTV footage of the raid is available.

Detective Constable Tom Alsford, of Bournemouth CID, called for anyone with information to come forward.

“We have made a number of enquiries into this incident and I would urge any witnesses to the burglary, or anyone with information that may assist our investigation, to contact us,” DC Alsford said.
