A couple whose wedding proposal at a seaside beauty spot was accidentally caught on camera have come forward to reveal the cliffhanger ending.

Harry Rolph, 27, confirmed girlfriend Eleni Kostantaki, 31, said 'yes' after he went down on one knee at Durdle Door.

Harry said he thought he had chosen a private moment when nobody else was around to pop the question to his partner of five years.

He didn't see amateur photographer Tracey Hollis-Rowe nearby who was busy snapping the famous landmark.

Tracey, 44, inadvertently caught the proposal on camera but quickly walked away before finding out the answer as she didn't want to intrude on the romantic moment.

She was desperate to find out if the woman said 'yes' and launched an appeal on social media to find the couple.

Harry, originally from Wimborne, Dorset, met Eleni while on holiday in Greece and moved to Sitia in Crete four years ago.

He bought an olive grove and is now an organic olive oil farmer.

The couple returned to the UK to attend a friend's wedding in Bournemouth before a day trip to Durdle Door where Harry had planned his romantic proposal.

The picture Tracey took showed Harry on one knee holding out a jewellery box while Eleni has her hand in front of her mouth in a gesture of joy-filled surprise.

Harry said: "I chose Durdle Door due to its natural beauty. We love the countryside on Crete where Eleni's from so it seemed right to ask in a place of natural beauty close to where I was brought up in England.

"We spent the morning walking on the beach at Lulworth and then walked up over the coastal path to Durdle Door.

"Eleni was busy snapping her own photographs and turned around to see me get down on one knee and propose.

"She was certainly shocked and her first words were 'what are you doing?'

"After what seemed like an eternity she said yes.

"I didn't notice anybody taking our photo. We sat together taking in the beautiful view and then headed back to Lulworth hand-in-hand.

"We found out about the photo after my brother saw it in an article on social media.

"We were shocked and surprised to see our photo but pleased we have a record of our special moment.

"The photographer has sent us the original photo and we are going to get a print as a special keepsake."

Tracey, from Leigh, Great Manchester, said: "I was so relieved when they contacted me and said there was a happy ending."

Harry and Eleni are now back in Crete sharing the good news with her parents.

They have not set a date yet but said they plan to have a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding.
