A MEXICAN restaurant in Bournemouth is raising money for the victims of the earthquake in Mexico.

Ojo Rojo in the Triangle will be holding activities at the restaurant to raise money for the “communities and families that need help to get their lives back on track”.

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck southern Mexico on Tuesday, killing at least 230 people across the region.

At least 21 children died after a school collapsed in Mexico City, with more feared dead after the building was reduced to rubble.

More than 40 buildings have been completely destroyed, with thousands more left damaged and unstable.

Posting on their Facebook page, Ojo Rojo said: “Over the next week we will be promoting some fundraising activities in-house to help this process.

“For now though, Just Giving are collecting money and we would love for you to dig deep and give what you can. Every little will help.

“Our thoughts go out to our friends in Mexico and we wish them all the positive energy we can muster.”
