MOTORISTS face more than 10 weeks of delays when roadworks start on one of Bournemouth's busiest routes.
Diversions and temporary traffic signals will be put in place on Wimborne Road, at its junction with The Broadway and East Howe Lane.
Work is due to start on Monday October 2 and is set for completion on December 15.
The Broadway and East Howe Lane side roads at the junction will be closed and local diversions put in place.
There will also be two way temporary traffic signals on the A341 Wimborne Road and local footway closures for periods of time during the project.
Kinson North councillor Mark Battistini said he believes the works will cause delays but said it will be worth it for the improved traffic signal junction, with new pedestrian facilities and equipment.
"It is going to cause some issues but the works are necessary and will make the junction a lot better.
"I plan to speak to the highways department so we can send a letter to residents explaining what is going to happen and warning of potential delays."
