PLANS for demolition work at a popular holiday park are set to be approved.
The proposed demolition was submitted alongside a separate application to build new holiday lodges.
The plans, which are before New Forest National Park Authority's (NFNPA) planning committee on Tuesday (19.9), seek to clear a farmhouse, nine outbuildings and a car park at Sandy Balls Holiday Village.
Godshill Parish Council has recommended refusal due to the loss of the farmhouse and a number of mature trees on the site.
Applicant Away Resorts Ltd only needs planning permission for the demolition because the farmhouse is located in the conservation area.
NFNPA's planning committee has to consider what impact the loss of the building would have on the character and appearance of the conservation area, on protected species and any potential damage to trees.
The planning officer's report recommends the authority grants the application subject to conditions.
This includes approval from the local planning authority to written arrangements from the applicant to protect trees and hedges on the site before any work to clear the area begins.
