NEW recruit Richard Gillespie netted twice as Christchurch climbed to the Wessex One summit following a 7-1 win over Totton & Eling on Saturday.

Poole Town striker Gillespie, who has dual registered with Priory to build up his fitness, came off the bench midway through the second half at Hurn Bridge.

Max Wilcock bagged a double while Luke Stone, Grant Cormack and Jon Blake were also on target for Ollie Cherrett's table-toppers.

Cherrett said: “We were head and shoulders the better side and, to score the seven goals, was good as well. It was a really pleasing day.”

Aaron Scott's dramatic extra-time winner booked Swanage Town & Herston a place in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase.

The Dorset Premier League outfit claimed a 4-3 win over Ash United at Day's Park to set up a home tie against Wessex One Fawley on September 23.

Although Cameron Beard opened the scoring for Swans, an 83rd-minute equaliser from Graeme Rose took the clash into extra-time after Combined Counties Division One United had taken a 2-1 lead.

Rose put Swans ahead, only for Daniel Cox to level for the visitors nine minutes from time.

Scott then popped up with the winner in injury time, his strike also seeing Swans bank £550 in prize money.

Jamie Filkins hit a hat-trick as Hamworthy United beat AFC Stoneham 5-2 to set up a second qualifying round tie with Lymington Town, who overcame Combined Counties League Guildford City 2-1.

Also on target for Hammers were Edgar Zanin and Dan O'Sullivan.

Lymington netted through a Sam House penalty and a goal from Jack Odam.

Ringwood Town will travel to Hellenic League Sandhurst Town after they overcame Combined Counties outfit Eversley & California 1-0 thanks to a goal from River Smith.

Verwood crashed out in extra-time in a 2-1 defeat against United Services Portsmouth despite a goal from Ryan Kelly, while New Milton lost 3-0 at Amesbury Town.

A last-gasp strike in extra-time from Leon Borges saw Brockenhurst advance with a 5-4 victory over Shaftesbury.

Mitchell Speechley-Price bagged a hat-trick for the Badgers and Mark Barber was also on target.

Brockenhurst will visit Combined Counties Premier Godalming Town in the next round.

Poppies host AFC Portchester in the first round of the Wessex League Cup tonight, while Ringwood travel to Downton. Brockenhurst visit Horndean in the second round.

Bashley host Bournemouth Manor in the first round of the Bournemouth Senior Cup, while Lymington meet Sway at the Sports Ground in the second round of the Southampton Senior Cup.
