Amanda Neeson said: "We’ve been to all of the Bournemouth Air Festivals, apart from the first one as my son, James, was born around the time of the first one. We took him to his first air show the year after. We’ve been looking forward to seeing the Red Arrows again.’’

Michael Stearns said he had also been looking forward to seeing the Red Arrows.

“We’ve been to the air show a couple of times before. I used to love the Vulcan so it was a shame not to see it fly this year, " he said.

Nina Bryan is used to as her mum is in the army.

She said: “I get to see them all the time. It is exciting at the air festival because you get to speak to lots of different people and army professionals which is different."

Diane Elsworthy said: "There is a really nice atmosphere at the air festival.

“It’s very well organised and there’s lots of security which makes you feel quite safe.

"I've been most excited to see the Red Arrows."

Nathaniel Payne, who is eight years old, said: "I am really interested in Spitfires and Lancaster Bombers.

“I really wanted to see the Battle of Britain Memorial flight."

Bryony Walters said: "On Saturday, we arrived with ten minutes to spare before the Red Arrows flew over so that was fantastic. And we spent the afternoon on the beach watching the planes. We watched the evening show as well, which was incredible.

We woke up Sunday morning full of zest to see some more stuff but it was all cancelled. But we’ve made the most of it anyway."

Lorraine Egerton: "I went to the Air Festival last year and really liked it. I love the Red Arrows. As well as watching all the planes, I'm enjoying sitting on the beach and relaxing and doing a bit of shopping in town as well."

Chris Gilbert-Norton went to the air festival with his six-year-old son, Luke. He said: "I've been every year since it started. I love the planes, Luke loves the soldiers. I like the old stuff like the Spitfires and Mustangs."

Jack Scoble said: "I try to come to the air show when I can but it’s not always possible due to work, but every time I do come, it gets bigger and better which I like.”
