The 10th annual Bournemouth Air Festival runs until Sunday. The free event will see displays from the Red Arrows, The Blades, Sally B, The Tigers Parachute Display Team, The Breitling Wingwalkers, Yakovlevs and many more. The Dorset County Show returns this weekend with a jam-packed programme of activities, and countryside enthusiasts and families alike are set to descend on the event which takes place at Dorchester Showground. New for 2017 is a live milking demonstration. Tickets are available to buy on the gate for £17, and children under 16 are able to enter the show for free with a paying adult.  Open from 8.30am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. 

A Family Fun Dog Show is being held at Mudeford Wood Community Centre from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, September 2. Entry to classes is £1, details from mudefordwoodcommunitycentre.co.uk.

The beautiful gardens of Brackenwood at God's Blessing Green in Holt will be open to the public at 2pm on Sunday, September 3 to help raise money for the British Lung Foundation. There will be afternoon teas and live entertainment from local musicians Peter and Sarah Emberley and Sharon Pearcy. Entry is a suggested £2 donation.

A beer festival takes place at Bournemouth's Goat & Tricycle pub at the Triangle until Sunday. From 12pm until late, there wll be a BBQ, live music, ciders and 20 cask ales to sample.  

Volunteers will serve cream teas at the Old School in Sturminster Marshall this Saturday and Sunday between 2.30pm and 5.30pm. The event will raise funds for cancer research charities. Admission is £3.50 per person.

Bridport Hat Festival returns this weekend with the highlight of the mass hatted photo taking place at 1pm on Saturday, 'Haturday' in Bucky Doo Square. There will also be talks on hats and hat making workshops. Hank Wangford will host the festival's closing party at Bridport Electric Palace on Sunday September 3 at 7:30pm with his all-star, hard-core country musicians, the Lost Cowboys. 

Lyme Regis will come alive with the sound of folk music this weekend.
There will be entertainment all over the town, including a Seafront Stage and headline concerts featuring Steve Knightley and Ralph McTell and Wizz Jones.

Enjoy a free outdoor dance performance with Landance, beginning at dusk at 7.45pm on Saturday at Maumbury Rings in Dorchester. Audiences will be taken into a fantastic urban landscape as darkness descends. Dancers from Impermanence Dance Theatre and local youth dancers, combined with live music, costume and lighting, will animate this brilliant performance.
