The first ever Dorset Wine Festival, in association with the Daily Echo, takes place at 10 Castle Street from 11am until 5pm on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24. The two-day festival will feature some 100 wines from up to 40 producers, many of which are unavailable anywhere else. Bournemouth's first Metropole Market takes place at the Lansdowne on Sunday. There will be stalls, entertainment, music and food with the whole stretch of Holdenhurst Road being closed off to traffic for the day. The event takes place between 10am and 5pm. 

The Dorset Do hobbies and craft show will be held on Saturday, September 23 at St Leonards Village Hall. There will be a variety of crafts displays and demonstrations including wood carving, bee keeping and spinning. Doors open 10am to 4pm. For more details, visit dorset-do.co.uk.

The Great Bransgore Charity Beer and Music festival will take place from 4pm Friday September 22 and will run until Sunday September 24 at the Three Tuns Inn in Bransgore. This year there will be 80 beers, 60 ciders and a variety of wines to choose from. Music will be provided from Fiery Fidler – Nancy Garcia, We are Robot and Big Town Boppers along with Joe Boiling, Just Jammin, an Elvis Tribute, Skamageddon and Johnson Van Dyke.

The Walk for Wards takes place at Avon Heath Country Park near Ringwood on Saturday. Organised by the Bournemouth Hospital charity, it aims to raise funds to improve the hospital for patients, visitors and staff. There are three challenges to choose from; a 1km, 4km or 8km walk. A reunion party for a ‘rave’ nightclub takes place this Saturday.
Remix, which closed 25 years ago, is now the Bomo Bunker, and hosts the event on Saturday, September 23, 10pm-4am, with a chance to dance to the sounds of 1988-92. Tickets are available from Skiddle.com or at the door on the night.

St Catherine's Hill History Day takes place on Sunday between 10.30am and 4pm. There will be a free pop-up World War One cinema, a Roman centurion, living history camp, 1916 J-type lorry, WW1 themed activities and more.
