AN application has been made to extend the use of a temporary school in Christchurch.
Dorset County Council have applied to Christchurch council's planning department to extend the permission deadline of their primary school at Twynham until September 2018.
It comes as work continues on a new school at Marsh Lane in Christchurch.
When planning permission was granted for a green belt site in Marsh Lane, an opening date of September 2017 was set.
But due to delays over the purchase of the land, the date was pushed back and the school is due to be completed by June 2018.
From this September, there will also be extra classrooms at Twynham School for an additional 30 pupils.
In their application to the planning authority, Dorset County Council say the temporary school is still required "until the completion of a new primary school."
They ask for the condition on the current planning permission to be varied until September 2018.
