A NEW care home has opened its doors in Bournemouth.
Great Oaks, a residential, nursing and dementia specialist care home in Poole Lane, has 80 bedrooms, each with en-suite wet rooms with movement-triggered lights, touch-sensitive lamps, and underfloor heating.
The architecture of Great Oaks has been designed with large windows and verandas to ensure a light and airy space is created throughout the home.
Ian MacDonald, home manager of Great Oaks, said: ‘‘I am thrilled to welcome our first guests to Great Oaks. I lead an incredible team of care professionals, and we’re proud to be able to offer such brilliant care facilities within a beautiful and secluded woodland area.
“Our doors are always open and visitors are welcome to pop in any time to meet the team, have a look around and enjoy the peacefulness of the landscaped gardens.’’
Great Oaks is managed by Encore Care Homes, which, in partnership with the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, opened Fairmile Grange care home in Christchurch last year.
