A VIP day out at Bournemouth Air Festival is on offer for a deserving member of the emergency services or armed forces.

Nominations are being sought to win a table for a day in the Air Festival Hospitality Marquee, offering the best view of all the action in the air and on the beach.

The top prize is being offered by Slick Events Limited, the Bournemouth-based events management company which supplies the marquee for Bournemouth council.

Director Tracey Williams told the Daily Echo: "Although we have no direct link with anyone from the emergency service or armed forces, my husband and I feel that the services have had a really tough couple of years and it would be nice to make a small gesture and give something back.

"We would like people to nominate someone from the services who has made a significant difference to their life, or to the life of someone they know, a person who makes a substantive yet unrecognised contribution to others, a person whose bravery is unknown or unacknowledged, or a person who has risked their own safety to help others in danger, in short, someone who has gone beyond the call of duty."

The table is for Saturday September 2 from 11am until 6pm for five people and their special guest.

Tracey urged those nominating to email, in no more than one paragraph, why they are putting the person forward for the prize. The closing date is Sunday August 20 and entries should be sent to bafhospitality@hotmail.co.uk

She said she is hoping for a range of nominations from the armed forces, police, fire and health services.
