TOBY Holmes’s hat-trick was still not enough to see Wimborne Town through to the first qualifying round of the FA Cup as they drew 3-3 at Andover Town.
Holmes struck twice in the opening half at the Portway Stadium to give the visitors a 2-0 advantage early on in the tie.
But back came Wessex Premier Andover with goals from Mike Gosney, Zach Glasspool and Shane Lock in quick succession, as the hosts raced into a 3-2 lead at half-time.
Former Dorchester Town and Parley Sports man Holmes then fired once again for the visitors in the second half to ensure the two sides will do it all again at
Cuthbury in a replay on Tuesday.
A Nathan Walker double helped Hamworthy United book their place in the first qualifying round of the competition.
Hammers sealed a 4-1 win over Ascot United in their preliminary round encounter at the County Ground, scooping £1,925 in prize money in the process.
The hosts’ other goals came through Billy Walker and striker Mark Ford.
James Goodey netted for Hellenic Premier outfit Ascot, who had Jonny Denton sent off late on.
Brockenhurst bowed out of the competition with a 5-1 home defeat against Hartley Wintney.
