WHAT are Poole council thinking?

I took my boat out this morning for a bit of a shake down as I have just finished doing some work on the outboard.

I got down the slipway at Baiter at about 9am.

I paid £14 for park and launch. No option of one, two, three hours etc here.

The ticket lets me stay until 23.59 if I like, if the gate is still open. I was gone at 11am. That's £7 per hour.

Obviously the council do not want people to visit for too long anywhere in the area judging by all the parking price hikes and extra machines about town.

While I was there I also saw two boat owners relieving themselves at the water's edge because the toilets are shut.

Wake up council. You are killing Poole.

The slipway is insufficient. The toilet situation around the town is a joke. How many people do you know that do not use a toilet at some point in the day?

Parking prices are stopping people from visiting some areas for any real length of time.

I've had a work colleague that lives out of town comment a few times about how poor Poole is now to visit, she avoids it now.

I've lived here all my life (48yrs) and always liked it and went on the defensive when my colleague was putting the town down.

However, in recent times I have changed my mind.

Flats...run down buildings...flats...coffee shops....flats....charity shops....flats.... no toilets....flats.

I recently visited for the first time, Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth.Wow, that is a well thought through shopping area that brings people in.

Poole, it's a beautiful place. Ha.....at one time maybe.
