A MAN from Wimborne was found dead in a hotel room while working abroad.

Staff at the Achilleas Hotel in Athens discovered Owen Jones’ body on July 5, a Bournemouth inquest heard.

The 31-year-old shop fitter had been working the previous two days.

An initial post-mortem was unable to determine the cause of death, but a subsequent one established Mr Jones had heroin, cocaine and codeine in his system.

Coroner Rachael Griffin confirmed that an investigation into his death had been opened on July 19, and she has requested statements from the Foreign and Commonwealth office, Mr Jones’ family and his GP.

The inquest has been adjourned until November 24.
