A WOMAN has been banned from Christchurch town centre for repeated anti-social behaviour incidents.

Sheila McGibbon, 50, and from Monkswell Green in Christchurch has been told she is not allowed to be in a state of drunkenness in a public place in Dorset or in possession of alcohol in public in Bournemouth and Christchurch.

She was handed the five-year Criminal Behaviour Order at Poole Magistrates Court on Friday, after being convicted on Wednesday May 24, of being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

McGibbon was issued with the order in response to her persistent anti-social behaviour.

The CBO states McGibbon can't act in a manner that causes distress or annoyance to people in the two boroughs or urinate or defecate in a public place, except for public toilets, and then only in the appropriate receptacles.

If asked to leave any premises in Bournemouth or Christchurch, she must do so.

And she can't enter Christchurch town centre unless she is passing through on public transport.

She must also comply and engage with EDP Drug and Alcohol Services.

PC Matt Leeding, of Christchurch Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Sheila McGibbon is a persistent offender who has a large number of convictions for various anti-social behaviour-related offences in Bournemouth and Christchurch which has often been fuelled by the consumption of alcohol.

“I hope this order will curb her behaviour and reduce the impact it has on others in the community, while ensuring she receives the appropriate help and support.

“We will take action when concerns are raised in relation to an individual who causes harassment, alarm or distress to members of the public.”
