Verwood Rotary Rustic Fayre will be coming to Potterne Park on Monday, 12 noon until 5pm. Family fun for everyone including stalls, crafts, demonstrations, music, food and drink.

The 18th annual duck race in aid of Wimborne in Bloom will take place on Saturday. The ducks will be launched into the River Allen at the bottom of Mill Lane at 4pm. They will be crossing the finishing line beside the garden behind the Rising Sun in East Street. 

The Great Dorset Steam Fair runs until Monday, with a jam-packed schedule of attractions for visitors. The popular event, held in Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford Forum, celebrates it's 49th event and features an old steam funfair, heavy haulage, steam tractors and lorries plus six stages of music and a WW1 tribute display. 

A family fun day takes place on the Quomps on bank holiday Monday. The event, organised by the Lions Club of Christchurch, takes place between 10am and 4pm. There will be stalls, Punch and Judy, hip hop dance displays, games, a raffle, an appearance by Ivo the Clown, a horticultural show and cake competition. 

A summer fete takes place at The Potteries care home on York Road on Saturday. From 2pm to 4pm, there will be a BBQ, garden games, stalls and a raffle. Everyone is welcome.

A family fun day will take place in Kinson this weekend. The event at Pelhams Park Leisure Centre is hoping to inspire people to get more active. It will be held on Saturday between 10am and 4pm. Activities will include an inflatable bouncer and half price pay and play tennis courts with free racquet hire. Visitors can also enjoy a swim for £1 each, under-fives can swim for free when accompanied by a paying adult and a new soft play area will be open with sessions costing £1 per child.

Three family friendly films will be shown in the grounds of Corfe Castle this bank holiday weekend. Stars under the Stars will start with the remake of Beauty and the Beast on Friday, followed by Trolls on Saturday and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword on Sunday. Gates open at 7.30pm for picnics and films start at 8.30pm. Booking is not needed.

The Bell pub in Pokesdown is hosting a bank holiday weekend of entertainment. From tomorrow until Monday the Bikers at the Bell fun days will host live music, vintage cars and motorbikes, and have a number of prizes to give away. The three day event is in conjunction with Homes4Heroes and Motorcycle Action Group.

The Dorset Plane Pull returns on bank holiday Monday where teams will pull a Boeing 737 weighing 35,000 kg a distance of 50 meters for charity. Spectators are invited to cheer on teams at Bournemouth Airport plus there will be food, drink, stalls and live entertainment. Takes place between 10am and 5pm. 

Film and Comic Con Bournemouth will take place at the BIC on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6pm. Guests lined-up include John Rhys-Davies from Lord of the Rings, Mark Rolston of Aliens, Jenette Goldstein of Aliens and Terminator 2, Jeff Rawle from Harry Potter and Doctor Who, plus Wendy Padbury from Doctor Who and David Prowse from Star Wars. 

There will be free outdoor dance classes for all ages and abilities on the terraces next to Pavilion Dance on Friday and Saturday night between 7pm and 9pm. Dances styles include Salsa, Ceilidh, Dance Club Fit, Street Dance and 1940s Social Dance. 

West Moors Horticultural Society is holding its summer show on Saturday, August 26. It will be in the Memorial Hall in West Moors from 1.30pm to 4pm. There will be classes for flowers, fruit and veg, home crafts, floral art and photography. Free admission and refreshments available.

Learn more about the history of Milton Abbey with an interactive exhibition at the abbey. The exhibition will display award winning paintings and photography, film and embroidery by The National Guild of Embroiderers. There will also be games for children. Open until August 31.

A free screening of The LEGO Batman Movie takes place on Sunday, August 27, at St James Church Hall, Pokesdown. Showing starts at 4pm. There will be free refreshments and popcorn.
