AN investigation into a woman who was injured during an arrest in Bournemouth wants to hear from two members of the public.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is carrying out enquiries into the incident where the woman was injured and required medical attention on Saturday, June 24 at 5.30pm.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was stopped and arrested by police on Terrace Road, near the junction with Orchard Street in central Bournemouth.

A spokesperson for the IPCC said: "After speaking to witnesses, investigators have gathered information indicating two members of the public may have been in some contact with the woman prior to her arrest, and may have information which can assist the investigation."

IPCC Operations Manager Mel Evans said: "We believe the contact between the woman and the members of the public took place close to the junction of Terrace Road and Commercial Road, Bournemouth.

“It is possible these two people witnessed the woman’s arrest, and our investigators are keen to establish what they may have seen or heard, to assist informing the sequence of events.”
