Here is our top 10 events across Dorset this month.

1) The classic tale of The Wind in the Willows is heading to The Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis on 31st August. The new adaptation of the much loved Kenneth Grahame’s tale features unique handmade puppets with a charming original score.

2) The Mad Science Summer Camp are running a set of, mind-blowing experiments at Trinity Ce Va First School, Verwood from August 7th to August 11th. Running from 10am-5pm, it promises oodles of fun for all those little mad scientists.

3) The Wild About Herbs workshop is taking place in Knoll Gardens, Wimborne on 19th August. The workshop allows children to get outdoors, connect with nature and create fun, home safe lotions and potions to take away.

4) Weymouth Carnival is being held on the seafront on 15th and 16th of August where a variety of family friendly events will be taking place. You’ll see the Red Arrows, a procession and a spectacular fireworks show.

5) Rockpool Ramble is giving young children the chance to explore the fascinating sea life that lurks in the rockpools of Kimmeridge Bay on 9th, 10th, 23rd and 24th August.

6) Join the experienced Lulworth Cove Rangers on 10th August for a walk around the unique landscape to see what wildlife is out and about.

7) The Dorset Dogs festival offers to celebrate our four legged furry friends in Upton Country Park on 12th August. With numerous stalls, refreshments, children’s activities and marquee’s, there’s something to enjoy for everyone.

8) The Swashbuckling Summer pantomime is returning to Weymouth on 14th August, where the well-known pirates are setting off on a new adventure.

9) Families are invited to Winter Wonderland in Bournemouth on 17th August, where the kids can meet some of their T.V heroes. Paw Patrol’s Sky Marshall and Chase will feature, alongside Peppa Pig, Fireman Sam and many more.

10) The Christchurch Carnival is returning on 19th August on the Quay for a weekend of live entertainment, fireworks, authentic food and its famous parade.
