UBER'S bid to operate in Bournemouth will go before councillors next month.
As reported in the Echo in July, the international taxi firm has been putting together its application for a licence, having won approval to operate in both Christchurch and Poole.
There was uncertainty over the date the bid would come before the town's licensing board, however chairman Andrew Morgan said the hearing is now scheduled for the meeting on September 12.
Uber allows users to book a private hire cab using a smartphone app. It operates in 450 towns and cities around the world.
The firm has courted controversy, accused in some parts of the world of undercutting established taxi services with low prices and unlicensed drivers.
Last month United Taxis was granted permission by the board to advertise its own app booking service within its vehicles in Bournemouth.
