A MAN was taken to hospital with facial injuries following a crash on the A31 this morning.

Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle collision on the A31 near Stoney Cross around 10am.

A white van is believed to have driven off the road onto the embankment on the westbound carriageway of the road.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

A spokesman from South Central Ambulance Service said the driver had suffered minor facial injuries and had been taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The road was cleared around 11.30am.

There were reports of 15 minute traffic delays in the area.
