A PRISON, a castle, a zoo, a lido, some cathedral ruins, walled gardens and a selection of historic museums.

These are just some of the venues across the country that are being transformed into outdoor cinemas this summer courtesy of Cult Screens.

Now for the first time the programme includes The Walled Gardens at Upton Country Park in Poole.

From guilty pleasures to ‘80s nostalgia, the programme includes cult classics with the likes of Pulp Fiction, Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, The Lost Boys and Pretty Woman to modern masterpieces such as La La Land and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Cult Screens also aims to bring all the comforts of the ultimate cinematic experience to the great outdoors with deckchairs and beanbags, bottles of chilled Prosecco, a selection of crafted beers and classic cinema comforts like fresh popcorn to fine street food from Kurbside Kitchen, a gourmet food truck specialising in hot dogs, cajun and sweet potato fries, and nachos.

New locations confirmed for this summer include The Walled Garden in Upton Country Park, Poole starting at the end of this month with the science fiction blockbuster directed by Steven Spielberg ,Jurassic Park on Thursday, August 31.

The 1986 classic Top Gun will be showing on Friday, September 1 followed by Hollywood’s award-winning musical La La Land on Saturday, September 2.
