HERE’S our pick of the top-10 events this month.

1. Abba fans rejoice! August kicks off with the first ever showing of Mamma Mia at Bournemouth Pavilion from August 1- 12, with special sign language and an audio described performance on August 3 and August 10 respectively.

2. Get your skates at the BIC with the Roller Coast Roller Rink. From August 9 - 22 it guarantees fun for all the family – no matter the weather.

3. Classical art and the local community is celebrated at the Russell Cotes Museum’s exhibition ‘Eustace Nash: Pen to Paper’, a Boscombe born artist. Runs until August. 31

4. The monthly Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club returns on August 11 to the Pavilion featuring comedians from BBC and Channel 4.

5. Redhill Park will be home to Circus Wonderland until August 6. Described as Britain’s most magical circus, it returns after a successful year to deliver even more comedy and daredevil antics.

6. Families can travel in time at Corfe Castle until August 28 with Tudor Adventure which shows how life was during the late Tudor period.

7. Wimborne opens its Secret Garden again on August 3. Described as one of the top 10 gardens in Britain, families can experience a bygone age through a world of whimsical fantasy. Visits to the garden and Serles House will sporadically continue until September.

8. Families are invited to celebrate country life at Upton Country Park with the Town & Country Show which runs for its ninth year from August 5 - 6.

9. Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is just one of the many acts performing at the Bournemouth Proms from August 11 in Meyrick Park.

10. Shelley Theatre hosts a Hitchcock classic from August 3 to 8. Dial M For Murder will be performed by theatre company London Repertory Players. led by Vernon Thompson, a producer who has directed over 60 professional productions.
