YELLOW Buses have adjusted several of their bus services for the summer and increased some fares.

From July 22 until September 3 there will be new open top bus services from Bournemouth to Alum Chine every hour, seven days a week and from Bournemouth to Poole Quay every 30 minutes, seven days a week.

There is also a new direct service, P4, between Southbourne, Pokesdown, Boscombe, Bournemouth and Westbourne providing more buses for this area from Monday to Friday.

The R1, R2 and R3 service to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital will now be operating every seven minutes during most of the day from Monday to Saturday.

There is now a simpler service on the Village Line as a result of customer feedback with all buses operating via Charminster and running to and from Kinson as routes V1 or V2, increasing from four to six buses an hour.

On certain routes and for certain journeys, adult and return fares are increasing by 20p with child single and return fares for medium and longer journeys increasing by 10p or 20p.

"Rising costs unfortunately mean that we've had to increase some cash fares by up to 20p. In some cases this is the first rise for more than three years," said Paul Wren, Yellow Buses Commercial Director.

"However, fares for many passengers remain the same and day tickets, school bus fares, app and Glo card fares including one hour, one day, three day, seven day and 90 day tickets and group fares have not increased.

"We believe that travelling with Yellow Buses remains excellent value with all-day travel across our network costing from as little as £1.50 a day."
