YOUNGSTERS from a Dorset multi-academy trust made waves when they took part in their annual swimming gala.

All six schools in the Heath Academy Trust dived into the competition, which was hosted at St Ives Primary School, near Ringwood.

The gala saw 40 children in Years 3 to 6 take part in a variety of races, both individual and relay.

CEO of Heath Academy Trust, Justine Horn, said: "It was wonderful to bring all the children from our different schools together in this way.

"Our pupils had the opportunity to work as teams in the relay races and some accomplished swimmers were able to shine in the individual events."

Heath Academy Trust comprises of six first and primary schools in East Dorset.

As well as St Ives Primary, the Trust also includes Three Legged Cross First, Oakhurst First in West Moors, St Mary’s First in West Moors, St James First in Alderholt, and Sixpenny Handley First schools.

Participants from each school competed in the gala, with hosts St Ives finishing overall winners.
