It's National Burger Day! To celebrate we've unearthed our guide on the best places to get a good burger in Bournemouth and Poole.
So, in no particular order, these are the eateries TripAdvisor say are the best rated.
- Smokeys
Hailed by some as 'the best burger ever' these guys in Ashley Road, Parkstone, believe burgers should be flame grilled not fried. And they have quite the range to choose from. With a choice of 22 beef burgers, including ones with eggs, potato rostis, onion rings and pulled pork, there is literally something to suit all tastes. You can read our review here
- 7 Bone Burger Co
"Best Burgers in Bournemouth" - that's quite the accolade but judging by the reviews for this place, it lives up to its reputation. Based in Gervis Road, 7 Bone have a mouth-watering menu, with veggie options and some tempting sides as well. Our favourites would be the Robert Johnson or Ronald's Revenge. But to be fair, we'd be happy with anything from this menu.

- Monty's Lounge (Bournemouth and Boscombe)
Fast becoming Bournemouth's best worst-kept secret, Monty's Lounge has a menu totally dedicated to burgers. From shredded chicken burgers, pulled pig and spicy beef burgers, there is more than enough to whet the appetite. Sides include skinny fries with rosemary salt, sweet potato fries or beer battered onion rings. Drool. They are based in Bourne Avenue or Christchurch Road, Pokesdown.

- Roxy's American Diner
A classic diner style restaurant in Kingland Crescent, Poole, Roxy's has been getting some great reviews for their fare. You could get a double Smokey Joe - burger, bacon, onion rings, cheese and barbecue sauce - or a Hola-peno for fans of spicy burgers which includes a burger, jalapenos, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato and spicy sauce. AND their sides include Frings - half onion rings, half fries, chilli fries and bacon cheese fries. YUM.

- Handmade Burger Company, BH2
With more than 40 different handmade burgers including 'dirty' burgers, chicken, the 'pit range', Jimmy's Farm and a junior menu, the Handmade Burger Company has made its mark on the Bournemouth burger scene. And they also do a really great range of vegetarian and vegan options as well if meat isn't your thing.

- Brewhouse and Kitchen, Southbourne and Bournemouth
Ideal if you want a beer with your burger (and they have quite the range of craft beers), Brewhouse have a decent Classic burger, along with a Ridiculous burger, which consists of two 6oz patties, pulled pork, bacon, onion rings, cheese and relish, lettuce and tomato. For those not wanting a beef burger they also have a funky chicken burger, lamb and rosemary and a spicy bean burger. And to top it off, they suggest choices of beer to go alongside your meal. What more could you want?
- Five Guys, BH2
There was a LOT of excitement when Five Guys opened at the BH2 complex. While the burgers are lauded as great, people rave about the fries. You can personalise your burger with up to 15 fresh, free toppings and the company claim you'd need to eat there every day for 684 years to try all possible combinations.
