The RSPCA is appealing for information after a bulldog was found after an emaciated in the New Forest.

The dog, named Delilah, was found at Linford Bottom in the New Forest with scars on her face and sore paws.

She was found wandering in the National Park on Thursday, July 20 just before 6:30pm by a member of the public who contacted the animal charity over concerns for her welfare after spotting she was underweight.

The charity have been unable to trace where she came from after discovering that the dog had no microchip or collar.

RSPCA inspector Jo Story said: “She has enlarged teats which has led the vet to believe she may have had puppies recently so we are concerned that her puppies are out there somewhere and in need of her care.

“When I first saw her she seemed very reluctant to get up as I think her feet were really sore but once up she was OK, just quite lethargic, and seems a really sweet dog. She jumped up into my van kennel without me asking which makes me think she must have been very used to kennels or crates.

“She seems to have a lovely temperament but obviously we have no idea what her story is so are really keen to hear from anyone who may know where she has come from.”

Anyone who has any information on Delilah is asked to contact the RSPCA in complete confidence on 0300 123 8018.
