RAM-RAIDERS smashed their way into a car sales business to steal thousands of pounds worth of equipment.

They reversed a van straight through a roller door before ransacking DJR Car Sales in Stourvale Road, Bournemouth.

Owner Dan Rooker said the raid was the second time his business has been targeted in just six weeks.

Now he has released CCTV images and a video in a bid to track down those responsible.

Dan, who has owned the business for five years, was at home in Castle Lane West when he received a phone call from a neighbour of his business at 9pm on Sunday July 23.

He said: “They told me they had heard a very loud bang and then saw a white Transit van driving off at speed.

“I called the police straight away because I knew it was going to take me about 10 minutes to get there.

“Unfortunately by the time the officers and I got there there was no sign of the offenders.”

Mr Rooker said a jetwash worth £5,000 was among the items taken from the building, which consists of an office and two workshops.

He is now checking his stock to see what else has been stolen from his business, which is situated next to the railway line, between the junctions with Fenton Road and Kimberley Road in Southbourne.

The video shows the van reversing into the building by smashing through the door.

Two men are then seen running around the building, grabbing items and putting them in the back of the van.

The property was left unsecure and Mr Rooker was forced to call out a company late at night and at great expense to board up the gaping hole in the building.

Mr Rooker said: “I hope someone recognises the people responsible for this or knows something about it. It may be that someone else was around at the time who may have some information they can pass on to the police.”

He said burglars entered his property around six weeks ago. Little was stolen but the office was ransacked and items thrown out of cupboards and drawers.

“We never leave money there overnight so they didn’t find what they were looking for,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
