CCTV cameras at the Christchurch Tennis Facility have captured an alleged thief.

Motion sensor cameras at the Iford Bridge Pavilion's café in Barrack Road, Christchurch, were activated in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The video recorded shows a man wearing a peaked cap and hooded jacket leaning into an open hatch at 5am before apparently grabbing a cash tin.

In the footage, the man appears to nod and briefly speak to someone out of shot.

No film is available of how the hatch was opened.

Police were called to the club shortly before 11.30am on the same day after helpers discovered the tin was missing.

Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "At 11.27am on Sunday, July 23, we received a report of a burglary from the tennis club at the Iford Bridge Pavilion in Barrack Road, Christchurch.

"It was reported that at around 5am the premises had been broken into and a cash tin had been taken from a café area.
