SIAN Thomas has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Ambitions Academies Trust.
Sian, former principal of St Aldhelm's Academy in Poole, will now oversee the six academies in the Bournemouth-based trust.
She is a former principal of the Tregonwell Academy, which she led to an Outstanding judgement from Ofsted.
At St Aldhelm's she took the school out of special measures to a judgement of Good.
Sian was seconded to the role of interim CEO of the Trust in January 2017 and Jon Webb took temporary control of St Aldhelm's. He now steps up to become principal.
Sian said: "I’m extremely honoured to take on the role of CEO and I’m equally proud to be part of an organisation which prides itself on growing and nurturing its own leaders.
"I have been part of Ambitions, formerly the Tregonwell Multi Academy Trust, for over 14 years."
