HERE'S our pick of the top-10 events in Dorset and the New Forest over the next two weeks.

1.The New Forest and Hampshire County show get underway this week, running July 25, 26, 27. The annual three day family agricultural show includes a range of equestrian classes, livestock competitions including cattle and sheep, poultry section, rabbits, cage birds, and honey bees, and a local produce market.

2.Swanage carnival and Regatta gets underway this weekend, running July 29 until August 5. An action packed week with a carnival, dance, live bands, firework displays and family entertainment.

3. Poole Harbour Festival arrives at Harbourside Park on Friday 28, Saturday 29, Sunday 30 July. The three-day festival offers a full weekend’s entertainment for all the family with a stunning bill of top tribute acts as well as the best local bands. Also on the menu is an array of artisan-produced international street foods with 40 stalls offering the best in world foods, local produce and crafts.

4. Swinging Jazz is set to play out to audiences at Woodcutts Manor July 29-30, with tickets now on sale. Two concerts of swinging "classic" jazz music will take to the stage in the marquee on the lawn of the traditional 18th century Woodcutts Manor, betwixt Tollard Royal and Sixpenny Handley, north Dorset.

5. Tuesday night is Bike Night on Poole Quay when up to 2,000 bike enthusiasts roar into town every Tuesday night until the end of September, turning Poole Quay into a fabulous bike show.

6. The Great Dorset Chilli Festival arrives in Wimborne St Giles on Saturday, August 5 and Sunday. The Festival will showcase lots of chillies in every form imaginable, from fresh pods to chilli fudge, chill cider and chilli pickled eggs. There’s plenty for the chilli-hater too, with jams, chutney, cheeses, charcuterie, olives, brownies, baklava and artisan breads all available, plus ironwork, ceramics, wicker baskets and wooden chopping boards. Competitions, children’s entertainment, falconry, plant exhibition, beer tent, cocktail bar, cider tent and international street food add to the fun.

7. The Circus of Horrors is coming to town, performing at the Tivoli Theatre, Wimborne on July 27, and Exmouth Pavilion on July 28.

8. Don't miss Christchurch’s Award-winning smooth-jazz Festival Stompin’ On The Quomps. Takes place on Saturday, August 5, 12 noon to 10pm on the Quomps, Christchurch, Dorset. Headline act Snake Davis, as well as Shakatak singer Jacqui Hicks and 10 top smooth jazz groups from Dorset and further afield.

9. Poole's luxurious open air cinema is currently open until September 2. Movie lovers can feast their eyes on Jurassic Park on August 31, Top Gun on September 1 and LA LA Land on September 2, all at The Walled Garden while lounging on stripy deckchairs.
