A MOTORCYCLIST was rushed to hospital with serious leg injuries after a crash in West Parley on Saturday.

The casualty, a man in his 20s, was riding a silver motorcycle in Christchurch Road when he was involved in a collision with a silver BMW near the junction with Linden Road.

Police and paramedics were called to the stretch at 11.40am.

Christchurch Road is closed from the Parley Cross traffic lights near the Tesco Express and the Longham roundabout.

PC Martin Vaughan, of Dorset Police, said: "Officers were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision which involved a silver BMW and a motorcycle.

"Both vehicles are registered to local keepers.

"The motorcyclist has suffered a serious leg fracture. He has been taken to Southampton General Hospital by road ambulance.

"The male driver of the BMW was not injured.

"No arrests have been made."
