THERE could be some good news for Olly Murs fans who have been left disappointed and out of pocket after his Bournemouth concert was cancelled.

Thousands of people were due to attend the Kings Park concert on Saturday, August 5, with many forking out well over £100 for tickets.

Promoters Stephen C Associates Ltd announced on Wednesday they had gone out of business and the show had been cancelled.

But now the former X Factor star has tweeted tonight to say he and his team were "working on something" and that there would be news on Monday.

Since news broke earlier this week many of the pop star's fans have blasted the organisers as they struggle to get a refund.

Laura Firpi purchased five tickets for the show and is now trying to reclaim the £220 she spent through her credit card company.

“I was taking my niece, who’s nearly seven, to her first concert, as well as my sister, my best friend and her daughter.

“We were really excited about the concert so we’re really upset it’s been cancelled. The girls are gutted.

“It’s disgraceful that the organiser took this money when it was not in good faith,” she added.

Rebekah Selby-Davis commented: “My best friend arranged a group of us to go as a birthday outing for me – she bought us both tickets and all my friends did also – all the high-end ones, which cost a fortune. So infuriating.”

Bournemouth Hospital Charity posted on their Facebook page to say they were “shocked and saddened” at the news.

Some gig-goers had purchased tickets using a promotional code which gave a donation to the charity.

“All of us at the fundraising team are disappointed about this situation, especially as some of you had supported our charity through booking tickets,” the charity commented.

“Unfortunately, we had no indication at any stage that promoters of Olly in the Park had any kind of financial difficulties that could have jeopardised this event.

“We are heartbroken for all of the Olly Murs fans in our community and our hospitals who were eagerly anticipating this event. We truly hope that everyone who may have been affected by this unexpected news is able to receive reimbursement.”

Stephen C Associates was given permission by Bournemouth council to use Kings Park for the event. A spokesperson for Bournemouth Tourism said: “This cancellation is obviously a disappointment for the town and for those people who were going to attend the concert.”
