The RNLI Mudeford Lifeboat Funday takes place on July 30. There will be races, demonstrations and music. All of the money raised at the event goes directly to the Lifeboat Station at Mudeford. Last year’s Funday raised nearly £21,000 and they are attempting to raise even more this year at Mudeford Quay between 11am-6pm.

St Ambrose Church, West Cliff Road, hosts its summer fete on Saturday, July 29 to raise funds for the church and Diversability Dorset. 
Events, which take place from 11.30am until 3.30pm, include music, trips up the tour, birds of prey, a pets corner and various stalls.

The three-day Poole Harbour Festival starts today. This event, at Harbourside Park, Baiter, includes a number of top tribute acts and local bands. Organisers say there will also be 40 stalls offering world foods, local produce and crafts.

Thousands are expected at BH Live's two-day family fun weekend. Saturday will see entertainment at the Pavilion between 10am and 4pm with face painting along with Jamie Jigsaw. Free dance workshops will be held by Pavilion Dance South West along with Terrace Tales storytelling sessions. On Sunday, the fun will continue at Littledown Park from 11am until 4pm. More than 100 stalls, displays and activities will be on offer, including a Science Dome 360 show. Admission is free over the weekend. Charges will apply to some activities and refreshments.

The Milton Abbas 18th century street fair returns on Saturday with a full line-up of entertainment. Throughout the day, across five venues, there will be performances from 30 different groups, more than 130 stalls and demonstrations and plenty of children's games. Fair open from 11am until 5pm. Parking is free. 

The Damerham Fair and Horticultural Show will take place in the Damerham Sports Field on Saturday.  The event will feature trade stands, ferret racing, zorbing, gundog demonstrations and an egg-throwing competition. A fun dog show will begin at 12.30pm. 
Admission to the fair, which will open at 11am and close at 4pm, is £3.50 for adults and free for children.

Swanage Carnival returns from Saturday. There's a packed programme at Sandpit Field, including live music on the marquee main stage and even a dog and duck show. Throughout the week more than 100 events will be taking place across Swanage, but the highlight for many will be Sunday afternoon's carnival procession at 3pm.

Keith Powrie will lead a butterfly walk around Knoll Gardens this Saturday, July 29, between 11am and 12.30pm. The event is free, but booking is essential and donations to the Knoll Gardens Foundation will be gratefully received. To book, call 01202 873931.

The 10th annual Camp Bestival continues this week. The event runs at Lulworth Castle until Sunday and will see performances from the likes of Brian Wilson, Mark Ronson, Madness, Leftfield, All Saints, Lightning Seeds, Kate Nash and The Bootleg Beatles to name just a few. 

Pavilion Dance South West will be running fun, free outdoor dance classes on the Dancing Terraces on July 28 and 29 for all ages and abilities with styles such as Salsa, Ceilidh, Dance Club Fit, Street Dance and 1940s Social Dance. For more information call 01202 203630.

A music festival supporting veterans will be held in Springbourne this weekend. In total 16 bands, including The Decatonics, Ratrace, Sunstroke and the Crash Landings, will be performing in the two day event at the Queen's Park Hotel in Holdenhurst Road, at the corner with Ashley Road.

A family fun day is taking place at The Bell in Pokesdown on Saturday to raise money for Julia’s House. The event starts at 11am and there will be music, stalls, food, face painting, a bouncy castle, photobooth and an auction with the chance to bid for a signed AFC Bournemouth shirt. Children are welcome until 8pm.

Family event Dig It will take place at the Priest’s House Museum this Saturday between 10am and 4pm. Admission to the event is £1.75.
