The final ever Swanage Jazz Festival takes place this weekend. The festival will be taking place at various venues across Swanage and will feature bands from across the genre of jazz. The music will be on from 7pm to 11pm tonight, 11am to 11pm on Saturday and 10am to 11pm on Sunday.

Grooves on the Green Festival takes place in Ashley Cross on Saturday and Sunday. There will be live music from the likes of Gary Stringer from Reef with plenty other attractions including local food and drink, a silent disco, free kidzone for under 5s, inflatables, clothing, balloon modelling and craft stalls.

Hundreds of swimmers will take part in the Pier To Pier Swim on Sunday to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Swimmers will set off from Bournemouth Pier at 10am and then again at 11.40am.

There will also be a Pier to Pier walk in aid of Epilepsy Action. This event will start from Boscombe Pier at 10am on Sunday.

There will be floats galore when Upton Carnival takes place on Saturday, with the procession starting at Factory Road at 1pm.

A dog show in aid of the PDSA comes to Slades Farm Family Festival on Sunday. It runs from 11am to 5pm.

Glamour and retro chic will be the name of the game as Poole Goes Vintage returns to the Quay for its third year on Sunday. Sponsored by Dutton Gregory Solicitors, visitors will be able to jive from 11am to 7pm.

Volkswagen enthusiasts will be descending on Wareham from today for the fifth annual Dorset Volkfest at the Showground, Worgret Road, Wareham. Gates open from 10am today and 9am on Saturday and Sunday.

The Fordingbridge Summer Festival will have plenty of activities and entertainment for all ages. The event takes place on Saturday, July 15, at the Recreation Ground from 11am-5pm. Gates open at 10.30am. There will be an animal corner, a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang replica, vintage tractors, classic cars, games, face painting, a bouncy castle, music and more.

Lymington carnival takes place on Sunday. Alongside the procession down Avenue Road and up High Street, a fete is taking place at the sports ground all afternoon. There is set to be live music on stage and a dog show from 3pm. The carnival sets off from outside the town hall at 11am.

An open day takes place at Chestnut Nursery in Poole, which supports people with mental health problems, on Saturday. The event will take place at the nursery in Kingland Road from 10am to 2pm. It promises to be a fun packed day with stalls, games a raffle, special offers, tours of the nursery, delicious cream teas and home made cakes to enjoy.

There is a fun-filled day for all the family at Mudeford Wood Community Centre on Pipers Drive on Sunday from 12.30pm to 4.30pm. There will be carnival themed games and stalls, a tombola, raffle, face painting and inflatables plus food and a bar.

Hundreds of people are expected to visit Palace House for Beaulieu’s annual village fete from 1.30pm on Saturday.
