SEVERAL young dancers have been picked from hundreds of hopefuls to represent England.

They will take part in the Dance World Cup, to be held in Offenburg, Germany, later this week.

Hattie Sheriff-Holford, 17, has been selected for the second year running, this time to compete alongside her good friend Amy Finch, 18, in a ballet duet. Amy has also been picked to dance her Acro solo and a trio with her sister Eleanor, 15, and Katya Metelsky, 15.

Talent runs in Katya’s family, as her younger brother Leon recently took up his place to study at the prestigious Royal Ballet School.

All the students to go Prompt Corner Academy of Dance, which was founded in 2007 by principal Katie Gill and is based at Ensbury Park Community Centre in Bournemouth.

Last year, Prompt Corner students Hattie Sheriff-Holford and Polly Herbert were placed third and fourth respectively in classical Greek and Acro dance at the Dance World Cup when it was held on Jersey.

Supporters will be watching live streaming of the competitions from Germany, with the girls involved in events taking place from Wednesday to Friday.
