A MAN who was arrested after allegedly threatening a teenage girl with a gun has been released without charge.
As reported in the Daily Echo, the complainant, 14, claimed a hooded man loaded a black handgun and pointed it at her in a bridleway off Bronte Avenue in Christchurch on Tuesday, June 6.
A 24-year-old Christchurch man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence but has now been released without charge.
He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife or bladed article in a public place and has been cautioned for that offence.
Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
