Elderly man rescued from river bank
FIREFIGHTERS have rescued an elderly man from a river bank this morning.
Crews from Blanford and Sturminster Newton, along with a rescue team from Poole, were sent to reports of a man stuck near Mortain Bridge in Blandford St Mary around 8.45am.
The crews found the elderly man stuck down the river bank, but not in the water.
The man was assisted up the bank and had first aid administered to him before an ambulance arrived.
