A DRIVER was assaulted following a crash near Sturminster Newton.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened after a crash between a silver Volkswagen Passat and a blue Citroen Picasso in Station Road, Stalbridge at around 10.20am on Saturday, May 27.
The wing mirrors of both cars were damaged, and, following the crash, both drivers pulled over on the side of the road.
The Volkswagen driver then approached the Citroen driver.
An altercation took place where the Citroen driver pushed the Volkswagen driver – a man aged in his 40s and from Somerset – to the floor.
The victim sustained a broken nose and cuts and bruising to his face.
Police Constable Vicky Worboys, of Blandford police, is asking a woman who was in the area at the time of the incident walking her dog to get in touch with police.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who has any information that may assist with my investigation," she added.
