One lane was closed westbound between Stoney Cross and Picket Post services at around 10.30am due to a broken down HGV, which needed a tyre changed.
There were reports of 20 minute delays.
It followed an earlier incident on the westbound carriageway between the Ringwood turn off and the Ashley Heath Interchange at around 6am.
A vehicle broke down and was leaking engine oil onto the road.
Two fire crews and police were called to the scene.
The lane was closed to clean up the spillage and re-opened just after 8.30am.
