CCTV has been released of a man wanted in connection with a theft at a petrol station.

Officers were called soon after 9pm on Tuesday (JUN 6) after a man stole money from a till at the Esso garage at Wareham Road in Corfe Mullen.

The man queued to buy something before reaching over the counter and grabbing money from the open till before running from the garage in the direction of Blandford Road.

A search was carried out of the area by uniformed officers and the NPAS helicopter crew but the suspect was not found.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

He is described as white, approximately 30-years-old and 5ft10. He was wearing a beanie hat with a logo on the front, a light grey Slazenger tracksuit, black and white striped socks and white trainers.

No one was physically injured in the incident.

Police Constable Carmel Ryan, of East Dorset police, said: “We have carried out enquiries but have so far been unable to locate the suspect.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Wareham Road at the relevant time and saw a man acting suspiciously to please contact Dorset Police.
