A DRUG dealer arrested with more than 70 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine hidden in a sleeve has been jailed for two years.

Marcin Janaszczak, of Southcote Road in Bournemouth, was seen with two known addicts in the East Cliff on Friday, December 30 last year.

An officer on cycle patrol had spotted the users loitering near a block of public toilets at around 11.45am.

When he returned a short time later, the two men had disappeared. Aware that reports had been made of a man dealing drugs down a nearby footpath, the officer decided to walk down to see if he could find them.

Halfway down the path, the officer saw the addicts with Janaszczak, who quickly turned to walk away.

However, he was detained when the officer saw he had a small white wrap in his hand. The defendant, 32, then admitted he had more drugs on him.

In total, 72 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine were found.

On Thursday, May 11, Janaszczak appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court to be sentenced after admitting two offences of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

PC Stuart Grant, of Bournemouth police, said: “Dorset Police takes the supply of class A drugs very seriously and understands the impact it can have on local communities.

“This man was apprehended thanks to targeted work by the local neighbourhood policing team, acting on information from members of the public."
