BOURNEMOUTH council has spent £4,000 replacing damaged trees in Richmond Hill.

Two trees - which are located along the southbound pavement - were hit by vehicles and destroyed back in 2015.

Last week the council replaced the trees at a cost of around £2,000 each.

Richard Pearson, road safety manager at the council, said: "The trees in Richmond Hill were struck and destroyed by vehicles at various times around mid-2015.

"They cost approximately £2,000 each to replace and this includes removing the tree roots, re-instating special paving material around their base and including tree guards to help protect the new trees from similar damage.”
