TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill after two separate collisions on the A35 this morning.

The first crash on the A31 Shell roundabout happened at 7.47am close to Bloxworth and involved two vehicles.

No one was seriously injured in the collision, involving a white Ford Transit and a white Volkswagen Polo, but the driver of the Transit was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was cleared at 9.15am.

But a second crash at Slepe, close to the Bulberry Woods Golf Centre, continued to cause traffic issues.

Firefighters were called to the scene to extricate a man from a silver Vauxhall Astra. A white Ford Transit was also involved.

Both the van driver and the car driver were taken to hospital as a precaution and neither are believed to have suffered serious injuries.

Recovery was requested for both the vehicles and the road was fully reopened at 11am.
